Natural Wood Floor Wax
A wax is a semi solid which will feed and seal wood so that it keeps its looks. For best results ensure that the wood is dry.
225ml (1 cup) base oil
110ml (1/2 cup) vodka or rubbing alcohol
28-38g (1-1 1/2 oz) grated beeswax
38-50g (1 1/2-2oz) carnauba wax (depending on firmness of wax needed)
20 drops of essential lavender oil
Note: Carnauba wax is brittle and can be easily and quickly pulverised by plcing in a plastic bag and lightly tapping with a hammer or similar tool.
Put the base oil and waxes into the top of a double boiler and place over the
bottom portion of the double boiler to which water has been added and is already
simmering. At a low heat, stir until all the waxes have dissolved.
Remove from the heat and add the vodka (or rubbing alcohol), the essential
oil and blend together well.
Pour into a heat resistant container and allow to harden. Use a rag to rub into the wood.
