Quick Cleaning
For a very quick and easy clean, just mix together come vinegar and salt. Baking soda can be used on a damp cloth or sponge to clean and deodorise all
kitchen and bathroon surfaces, it is especially useful on the insides of fridges and freezers.
All Purpose Cleaner One
3 tablespoons of vinegar
1/2 teaspoon of washing soda
1/2 teaspoon of a vegetable oil based liquid soap
450ml of hot water
Just mix it all together and add to a spray bottle. Now spray, wipe and clean.
All Purpose Cleaner Two
1 tablespoon of borax
55ml of vinegar
900ml of hot water
A dash of liquid soap (optional)
This is a good cleaner and disinfectant in one - it can be used on worktops, tiles, sinks, baths etc
All Purpose Spray Cleaner
1/2 teaspoon of washing soda
1/2 teaspoon of borax
1/2 teaspoon of a vegetable oil based liquid soap
2 tablespoons of vinegar
450ml of hot water
Mix it all together and add to a spray bottle. Shake well until the solution dissolves completely. If you need an extra tough cleaner, then you could increase the borax to 1 teaspoon. Simply spray and wipe with a damp cloth or sponge.
Apple Cider All Purpose Cleaner
A few people are allergic to white vinegar, so this version uses apple vinegar instead. This is an old fashioned recipe that our grandparents could have
made.
Take any spray bottle and pour in one third of apple vinegar (Use more if you want a stronger solution), then top the bottle up with water.
Add 10 to 20 drops of your favourite esential oil (optional)
Add one tablespoon of Castile soap (optional)
5 to 10 drops of grapefruir seed extract (optional)
Just spray and wipe. This solution makes a great daily shower spray to keep it clean of limescale and soap scum. Just spray it one and leave it for 20
minutes, that's it - you don't need to wipe, but you can with a damp cloth or sponge.
Use on tiles and mirrors for a great shine.
Use on all work surfaces and appliances. For floors, add about 110ml to a bucket of water for a clean and shiny floor. You can even use this as a rinseaid
in your dishwasher.
General Tea Tree Oil Spray
Tea Tree has been used for centuries for its antiseptic properties, we can now use this for our own home.
To make this fantastic spray, combine 2 teaspoons of tea tree oil in 450ml of water in a spray bottle. Shake well.
This has many uses around the home. Use it on mould (spray and don't rinse). Spray around bins for a fresh clean smell.
It is safe for use around children and babies and is great for the areas that you need antiseptic attention (i.e. around areas of vomiting).
